 Howdy! 

There are lots of exciting things happening around here. Bible studies that are finishing, seniors  graduating, taking future leaders to SICM, baptisms, and a fraternity revival night. It definitely seems as if God is expanding his kingdom in new and exciting ways at UNT, TWU, and by extension, NCTC. Thank you for being a part of it by praying and giving!

Upper left: Caught a sweet moment between some friends during the last worship song.
Upper right: one of our music students who leads scripture studies in the music department, DJ. He and Casey (to the right) dressed up as Monday Night Football announcers to announce the last announcements for the year. It was great. 
Middle left: Me and Kayah! Kayah is one of our sweet girls who is about to graduate. She was in my core two years ago and has left a great mark on our ministry. 
Middle right: Cathryn sharing a message about truth and beauty, here's she quoting Josh Nadeau, a Christian writer with a great book called Room for Good thing to Run Wild. 
Bottom left: Alex vs. Kaley. Kaley is very strong and Alex was seeing if he could push her across the floor, he was able to but I think her sneakers were a hindrance. A rematch is required. 
Bottom right: Audrey, another one of our great seniors from TWU, co-leading an emotional worship set!

Kaley (strong girl mentioned above) hosted a girls hang where they played "foot twister". I got there later and was very confused at how to the play this game but there were winners! It was a great time to bond with the girls who are going to SICM. :)

Recently, Grant and I made it to Houston for a FOCUS alumni wedding! Pictured here are all Denton FOCUS alumni, and John on Ashley of the Truth and Beauty Project (the uncle and aunt of the FOCUS alumna getting married). We took a picture with them because our group got to attend their faith formation excursion abroad in Italy at different times. What a wonderful reunion of so many faithful people! 


Our friend and UNT FOCUS alumna, Madi, hosted a backyard spelling bee for adults. Samantha, a recent FOCUS alumna, dressed up as THE spelling bee and facilitated the event. People were competitive. Hearts were broken. Tensions rose. I encourage you to host one soon! 


Brandon (another FOCUS alumna) and Grant, my husband, holding it down. I met Brandon nearly 10 years ago when I was serving at Collin FOCUS. And over the last few years, he has become family to us like so many other focus students!

Cowabunga! This is my first blog post as an Apprentice for FOCUS! First, I want to say a BIG Thank You to my prayer and financial support team. I am able to pursue this coming year of mission because of your belief in college ministry. I am 76% fundraised, which is bonkers to me (in a good way). Hello, all! January has whooshed on by, and that has a lot to do with the momentum from Winter Camp. Winter Camp is a special, annual event that happens over a weekend every January. During this time, students from all of our campuses get together to worship, listen to sermons, and to spend time growing in community via friendship. It's not hard to grow in community when you are stuffed into cabins and forced to share small bathroom spaces. Honestly, some of the funniest memories I have from my 5 years of Winter Camp have happened because of small spaces. There is a lot of snoring, sleep talking, and dancing that happen. Winter camp is an enjoyable, yet stretching kickoff for our students. Though it rained the entire weekend, it was still an amazing experience. We had over 600 students from all of campuses attend Winter Camp. My first year at Winter Camp, there were only 300 students. WOW! This was the first time at Winter Camp where I truly didn't see certain people for hour...

May 2025 update

Howdy!  I'm excited to share about the last month of ministry through photos! I recently returned from our annual trip to Washington state. We took 145 students from DFW to SICM where they learned together how to be intentional disciples of Jesus.  First up is a really touching student testimony. One of the reasons I love campus ministry is that we get to meet people from all over the world! Please read Freddie's story. She is from the Netherlands and God ministered to her through FOCUS at Collin College (go cougs).  Snapshot from our end of year party for Denton FOCUS. People were reading lyrics to worship songs off their phones. You can see Bryan Pham holding his phone up with the lyrics for others to read. He's one of our transfers from Richland and has such a sweet presence.  This is Samantha and I's core (small group) that we led this past year.
