May 2025 update

Howdy!

I'm excited to share about the last month of ministry through photos! I recently returned from our annual trip to Washington state. We took 145 students from DFW to SICM where they learned together how to be intentional disciples of Jesus.

First up is a really touching student testimony. One of the reasons I love campus ministry is that we get to meet people from all over the world! Please read Freddie's story. She is from the Netherlands and God ministered to her through FOCUS at Collin College (go cougs).

Snapshot from our end of year party for Denton FOCUS. People were reading lyrics to worship songs off their phones. You can see Bryan Pham holding his phone up with the lyrics for others to read. He's one of our transfers from Richland and has such a sweet presence.

This is Samantha and I's core (small group) that we led this past year. Kenzie (to my right), Joleigh (in the middle), and Layla (purple shirt) all came with me to SICM this year. Please be praying for them this summer as they learn to utlize what they learned at SICM! Also pray for Madi (my left) and Samantha (my co-fa/co core-facilitator) as they navigate the transition of graduation. These two blessed our girls in our core so much by studying scripture with them, spending time with them, praying for them and more. Please pray for the rest as well as they navigate summer and spiritual friendships :)

My co-fa and friend, Samantha! I am beyond blessed that we got to co-lead together this year. We cried, laughed, and stumbled our way through being faithful to God and his people this year. She has become a good friend and lil-sister in Christ. Samantha along with a couple other students organized the first ever FOCUS 5k to raise money for SICM! How cool is that? She is someone who uses her talents to intersect with the needs of the world and bless many. I'm excited to see what God has in store for her next.

First ever FOCUS 5k! If you look at the shirts, Samantha designed those. This event raised close to 5k for SICM! This wouldn't be possible without Paul Ueng, (our main focus admin) other FOCUS staff, and student volunteers to help Samantha, Brianna (UTD), and Jackie (TWU) to pull off this fundraiser.

Kenzie from my core getting baptized by Madi! Madi studied the bible with Kenzie and invested in Kenzie as a spiritual friend. We didn't have a clean pool to baptize Kenzie in so Kenzie's sweet mom bought a stock tank for her to get baptized in and then donated it to FOCUS. How cool is that? So we gathered in my front yard and all these students showed up who love Kenzie! Praise God!

After Kenzie's baptism!

Grant and I were visiting my parents in the country side for Mother's Day and decided to go for a little drive. We had to stop for pictures because the sunset was so beautiful!

This is a picture of the group we brought to SICM. I'm in the pink hat on the right side. So many young people who love Jesus and one another! Please be praying for them now that we're back! Our group definitely brought the energy to the sleepy town of Bellingham.

Here's a picture of the students I got to pick up and drop off every day while at SICM. I drove a 12 passenger van around for the week - brought me back to my camp counselor days!

A student took this picture of some of the students and staff laying down at the park. This was the one sunny day we had in Bellingham and it was towards the end of the week, we were so tired. I'm in the back with my pink hat on my face - I didn't want my lips to get sunburned!

This is really special. This is my cousin Dayton and he got to attend SICM this year. He's from Louisiana but lives in Tacoma now. He never got the college ministry discipleship experience so I encouraged him to attend since I believe that SICM benefits you for the rest of your spiritual life. I'm so glad he came! I'm excited to hear about the fruit that is produced from attending this conference.

All of our flights home from SICM were between 12 am - 6am.  I was with the 6am crew and these guys SICM'ed so hard that they slept most of the 4h flight home. I was impressed. Obviously the man on the left wasn't with us :)

Thank y'all for your partnership! You are a huge part of the good that is happening on college campuses in DFW.  Love y'all!
