March 2025 update

Howdy! It's been an interesting month. I'll update more below but first is our student testimony from Caitlynn at TWU right here in Denton! Reagann actually got to baptize her a while back. Take a moment to read her story.

March:

As I mentioned, this has been an interesting month. We had Spring Break, and then spent much of the month planning and preparing to host 17 students and 4 staff from a campus ministry in Washington state. Finally, we hosted, aided, and assisted them for a week!

Our ministry has a wonderful partnership with CCF, or Campus Christian Fellowship, in Bellingham, WA. We attend SICM up there every year! And every year, they send a group to one of our FOCUS communities to do outreach for a week during their Spring Break! It was an intense labor of love and planning. As you can imagine, there are a lot of moving parts, requiring significant coordination and communication on our part. Our students even joined in, helping with everything from finding host families and air mattresses to coordinating food, cooking, cleaning, driving, setting up for outreach, participating in outreach with them, organizing dinners cooked by members of our churches, ministering together, praying, and more. One night, they worshipped God outside during a heat lightning show – they don't experience thunderstorms like that up there! We had a sightseeing day in Fort Worth, which they loved! The more Texan, the better. We even had a Texan night at our fellowship service where they wore cowboy hats and learned to two-step. And they went home with new experiences of God, either tanned or sunburned, new friendships, western wear, and more! It was a tiring yet joyful week. We were blown away by God's generosity through our church and our students, and by the experiences they had here!

The Washington students and staff debriefing and praying for all the people they met!

Ricardo (left - focus alumni), Jacob (Washington ccf student), and Alex (denton focus staff), laughing together. Ricardo and his wife Claudia (focus alumni) provided a dinner of smoked brisket, sourdough rolls, potato salad, and green beans. The students went crazy for the brisket Ricardo made! Ricardo later on said he felt very blessed by getting to do that.

Our Giant Beach Ball popped immediately at our Everything is Bigger in Texas outreach event :( Drew is standing in it for scale

Texas Night at Fellowship! If you zoom in, you'll see bandanas and cowboy hats :)

CCF and FOCUS staff at the Stockyards!

Thank y'all for praying and giving. Would love to tell you more about this week in person.
